Congratulations to seniors Anh Hoang and Meghan Gorniak, who received ACS Undergraduate Research Awards. They have both conducted research with the Lab since its inception and have done excellent work.
Congratulations to 2nd year PhD student, Christine Hamadani, for being recognized as a rising star and winning the Biochemistry Graduate Research Award at this year's ACS banquet.
Undergraduates in the Tanner Lab were recognized for their outstanding academic performance at the ACS Banquet. Ember Suh won the award for both Physical and Analytical Chemistry, Danny Zuckerman won an Organic Chemistry award, Bekah Heintz won a General Chemistry award, and Leslie Anne Bell, Noah Grovich, Karen Wong, Jo Galloway, Meghan Gorniak, and Allison Mahurin were all recognized as top graduating Chemistry majors. Congratulations!
Congratulations to senior, Mercedes Pride (B.A. Chemistry with minor in Psychology), for being accepted to the Ole Miss PhD Program in Chemistry! We're so proud of you!
Titled "Improved nanoformulation and bio-functionalization of linear-dendritic block copolymers with biocompatible ionic liquids", the Tanner Lab and colleagues have published their first paper in Nanoscale in the themed collection "Advanced Functional Nanomaterials for Biomedical Applications".
Congratulations to 2nd year PhD student, Christine Hamadani, for winning a 2022 Out to Innovate Career Development Fellowship for her project "Improved Nanoformulation and Bio-functionalization of Linear-Dendritic Block-co-Polymers with Ionic Liquids for RBC Hitchhiking In-Vivo"!
Congratulations to senior, Anh Hoang (B.A. Biochemistry), for being accepted to the University of Alabama PhD Program in Chemical Engineering! She will be working with Dr. Amanda Koh in her lab that focuses on development and manufacturing room-temperature liquid metals in polymers to achieve soft, stretchable electronic materials. Anh Hoang plans to work in the manufacturing industry upon completion of her PhD degree. We're so proud of you!
Congratulations to senior, Jo Galloway (B.S. Forensic Chemistry with minor in Biology), for being accepted to the Louisiana State University's Department of Physical Therapy! We're so proud of you!
Dr. Tanner has been awarded the 2022 PhRMA Foundation Research Starter Grant in Drug Delivery for her project on Blood Cell Hitchhiking.
