November 2024: Congratulations to Priyavrat Vashisth!

  

Founded in 2005 as the Alfred R. Bader Award for Student Innovation, this award honors Alfred R. Bader's legacy as the co-founder of Aldrich Chemical Company. It also celebrates the spirit of creativity, innovation, and excellence in chemistry, which were hallmarks of Alfred R. Bader's career and contributions. May 11th, 2022: Tanner Lab is Awarded NSF Grant

The Division of Chemistry Macromolecular, Supramolecular, and Nanochemistry Program has selected our proposal, titled "Interrogating the Impact of Biocompatible Ionic Liquids on the Nanoaggregation of Linear-dendritic Block Copolymers" for funding! We are excited to get started and grateful for the support!

May 6th, 2022: Dr. Tanner wins the Frist Student Service Award

Dr. Tanner was recognized for her service to students with the First Student Services Award. She is pictured here with Chancellor Glenn Boyce and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Charlotte Pegeus. Dr. Tanner shared the honor with staff member EJ Edney.

April 19th, 2022: Undergraduate Research Awards

Congratulations to seniors Anh Hoang and Meghan Gorniak, who received ACS Undergraduate Research Awards. They have both conducted research with the Lab since its inception and have done excellent work. 

April 19th, 2022: Christine Hamadani wins a Graduate Research Award!

Congratulations to 2nd year PhD student, Christine Hamadani, for being recognized as a rising star and winning the Biochemistry Graduate Research Award at this year's ACS banquet. 

April 19th, 2022: Tanner Lab Undergraduates Clean up at ACS Banquet

Undergraduates in the Tanner Lab were recognized for their outstanding academic performance at the ACS Banquet. Ember Suh won the award for both Physical and Analytical Chemistry, Danny Zuckerman won an Organic Chemistry award, Bekah Heintz won a General Chemistry award, and Leslie Anne Bell, Noah Grovich, Karen Wong, Jo Galloway, Meghan Gorniak, and Allison Mahurin were all recognized as top graduating Chemistry majors. Congratulations!

April 17th, 2022: Tanner Lab Undergraduate accepted to Ole Miss Chemistry PhD Program

Congratulations to senior, Mercedes Pride (B.A. Chemistry with minor in Psychology), for being accepted to the Ole Miss PhD Program in Chemistry! We're so proud of you!

April 1st, 2022: Tanner Lab Publishes Their First Paper

Titled "Improved nanoformulation and bio-functionalization of linear-dendritic block copolymers with biocompatible ionic liquids", the Tanner Lab and colleagues have published their first paper in Nanoscale in the themed collection "Advanced Functional Nanomaterials for Biomedical Applications".

March 21st, 2022: Christine Hamadani wins 2022 Out to Innovate Career Development Fellowship

Congratulations to 2nd year PhD student, Christine Hamadani, for winning a 2022 Out to Innovate Career Development Fellowship for her project "Improved Nanoformulation and Bio-functionalization of Linear-Dendritic Block-co-Polymers with Ionic Liquids for RBC Hitchhiking In-Vivo"!

February 2022: Tanner Lab undergraduate accepted to UA Chemical Engineering PhD Program

Congratulations to senior, Anh Hoang (B.A. Biochemistry), for being accepted to the University of Alabama PhD Program in Chemical Engineering! She will be working with Dr. Amanda Koh in her lab that focuses on development and manufacturing room-temperature liquid metals in polymers to achieve soft, stretchable electronic materials. Anh Hoang plans to work in the manufacturing industry upon completion of her PhD degree. We're so proud of you!

January 21st, 2022: Tanner Lab undergraduate accepted to LSU Physical Therapy School

Congratulations to senior, Jo Galloway (B.S. Forensic Chemistry with minor in Biology), for being accepted to the Louisiana State University's Department of Physical Therapy! We're so proud of you!

January 1st, 2022: PhRMA Foundation funds Research Starter Grant in Drug Delivery

Dr. Tanner has been awarded the 2022 PhRMA Foundation Research Starter Grant in Drug Delivery for her project on Blood Cell Hitchhiking.
